Mini review: Sensational Wonder Woman #6 (9/10)

Sixth installment of Sensational Wonder Woman brings first Diana´s team-up with DC A list hero. Even the most popular - Bruce Wayne, but only in his “civil” identity. Itś not the only reason why this is for me the best chapter from this title to date.

Bruce is doing one of things for what is he most famous - organizing the gala. Like at almost all his parties we have uninvited guest. It is one of his best villains even if not so famous as he deserves. And Diana is resolving the situation.

This chapter is opposite of previous - very action packed, without long discussions, with sweet joke at the end. Alyssa Wong, who just wrote The Legend Of Shang-Chi one-shot for Marvel, is mainly known as science fiction and fantasy writer - her stories were multiple times nominated for Hugo, Nebula, Locus and other awards, one Nebula and Locus she won. She is dealing with comics poetics very well (she also wrote a few Doctor Alfra and co-wrote backups in Aero issues) and I want to read more from her.

Chapter is illustrated by Eleonora Carlini who knows how to draw woman action - you can find her illustrations in Batgirl and Harley Quinn issues. She has sharp lines, event for female faces, but it very fitts for warriors she draw.

This was a classic superhero story where Diana fights against villain known from other properties. It reads very fast and with pleasure.
