DC Digital Mini Reviews February 15th - 19th (Represent! #3, Sensational Wonder Woman #7, Truth & Justice #7)

This week we had three issues. Irt is standard DC Digital production for last three weeks, since “Challenge of Super Sons”´s break started. Bit next week is mini-serie “The Next Batman: Second Son” and we have also robust start of Milestone Revival, one-shot Milestone Returns: Infinite Edition #0. But this week we had a nice chapter of Represent!, very good Sensational Wonder Woman half-story and superb start of John Contantine issue in Truth 7 Justice.

Represent! #3 (8/10)

New chapter from this anthology about ordinary people from monitorities is touching very serious and not a known disease. Mai, main hero of the story, realised very slowly that she is ill and with this type of illness, nobody believed her. End of the chapter is full of hope and pleasure of family.

Young journalist Nadira Jamerson wrote very good and important first comics, which was joined by lovely art from Brittney Williams known from Lumberjans or Garfield.

Sensational Wonder Woman #7 (9/10)

This title is going back to two-parters for the next four chapters minimum. First two of them will be illustrated by Dani Strips whose unique style you can find in Harley Quinn Black + White + Red or in Dreaming. It has no straight contours, is a little childish and a bit retro, but it fits this story.

Starting at ecological convention, Corinna Sara Bechko (Star Wars, Lara Croft) is telling a story of strange fast weather change. At the end of chapter we see who is the main villain and who is behind - one of Diana´s oldest but relatively rare enemies. End of the story can be really interesting. I like the way Bechko changes wordy style at conference with fast pace action.

Truth & Justice #7 (9/10)

I was very curious about John Constantine´s chapter of Truth & Justice since the beginning of the series. Judging after the first chapter, waiting was worthy.

John is again in New York. He is following a little boy and meeting one of his first enemies. Usually as in his stories, after while almost everybody is demonstrating some powers. And John is meeting a few Justice League Dark team mates.

What Danny Lore (James Bond, Iron Man) did really good was Constantine´s personality. He didn't want to reinvent the wheel so John is cynical, arrogant, not-stop speaking and has a lot of Marlowesque monologues. With Ray-Anthony Height´s (Spider-man, X-men) very dynamic and detailed art (I like how he is drawing faces, specially eyes) we have the best DC digital chapter this year.
